EARTH DAY 50TH ANNIVERSARY COUNTDOWN ART INSTALLATION AND ACTION CENTER
At Earth Day 2019 in NYC’s Union Square
Earth Day 50 is coming!
This spring we will launch a countdown to the 50th anniversary of Earth Day with an action center and art installation, where artists will create live works of art on site during the event around various environmental themes inspired by the conversation around the Green New Deal. The accompanying action center will:
empower attendees to take simple actions to make a positive impact on the environment and
allow attendees to share their own sustainability stories of environmental solutions they see or want to in their own lives and communities.
You can get a head start by taking action now.
The Earth Day 50th Anniversary Countdown Art Installation and Action Center will all take place at the most high-traffic Earth Day event in the country! Our annual outdoor Earth Day New York 2019 event features dozens of exhibitors, including environmental non-profits, green businesses, kids' activities, and live performances. With more than 70 organizations represented, there is something for everyone.
We’ll also be hosting a Zero-Waste Weaving Installation where you can help repurpose used clothing and textiles into a brand new piece of art, weaving on a loom made out of clothing racks! The installation calls on you to ask where your clothing comes from and where it’s going.
The events are free and open to the public.

Visit NYC’s great green sites
Join our Earth Day 5K Green Tour! The tour is a fantastic way to get outside on Earth Day and get involved with some of the great green groups around NYC. Sites will include a river ecology school on the Hudson River, a state-of-the-art waste and recycling center, a zero-waste office, and a rooftop farm. Lunch is included and provided by Just Salad.
You'll travel from site to site and learn about what each group is doing on the ground to help green the city. The tour is great for school groups, employee engagement teams, or anyone who wants to learn more about some of the environmental work being done right around the corner.
