The number one question we get is what can I do. We’re connecting our supporters this month to ways they can green their lives and make an impact. So we’re bringing a special message from a long-time partner, Con Edison, with some positive environmental stories and things you can do during Earth Month.
From Con Edison:
Con Edison is making investments in the energy grid that are transforming NY’s energy landscape. A large part of this is energy efficiency. These EE programs help residents reduce energy use through accessible upgrades and initiatives. Together, we’re cutting emissions and creating cleaner air for a more sustainable future.
Con Edison believes in the power of giving. Teams regularly roll up their sleeves to volunteer across NYC, Westchester, and Orange and Rockland counties. Employees and retirees contribute their time to support nonprofit organizations, with efforts ranging from preserving coastlines, to physical storm hardening, to mentoring future leaders. They are committed to making a positive impact in the communities they serve.
After a fire damaged parts of Prospect Park last year, it served as a reminder of how vital this green space is to Brooklyn. The park is home to Brooklyn’s last remaining upland forest, a critical habitat for native wildlife and a peaceful refuge for millions of visitors each year. Con Edison contributed to fire restoration and other rewilding efforts to help restore the park and ensure it continues to provide shade and cooling, and be an accessible green space for generations to come.
